Portsmouth’s Manager gives his honest verdict Ireland Under 21 international after brilliant display…

Portsmouth manager John Mousinho expressed his confidence in Terry Devlin after the young player’s outstanding performance led to a comeback victory against Reading, where Devlin scored the winning goal in a 3-2 win.

Mousinho praised the maturity and talent of the emerging star, highlighting how Devlin earned his first league start and promptly repaid the manager’s trust with his debut goal for the club in a thrilling match against Reading.

The Northern Ireland Under 21 international had patiently waited for his chance to start for the League One side, who currently lead the league by five points.

Mousinho, in an interview with The News, emphasized Devlin’s ability to stretch the game and make well-timed runs behind the opposition, which was something he felt the team lacked in their previous game.

Mousinho made it clear that selecting Devlin wasn’t a risk, as the youngster had already demonstrated his capabilities in cup games and his league debut against Derby. The manager praised Devlin’s work ethic and discipline, describing him as a player they can count on, even at the age of 19.

Furthermore, Mousinho commended Devlin’s passion for the sport, emphasizing how much the player loves football and his determination to contribute to the team. Devlin’s patience and dedication paid off, and Mousinho described his winning goal as “brilliant.”
