Oregon football defensive tackle Ben Roberts has decided to transfer, leaving the team with a gap in their roster. Roberts, who redshirted last season but played in five games, announced his move on Wednesday. Despite having three years of eligibility left, the 6-foot-2, 310-pound player is seeking opportunities elsewhere.
During his time with Oregon, Roberts made modest contributions, recording two tackles and blocking an extra point in limited playing time. He was ranked as a four-star recruit out of high school but has now become the seventh player from Oregon’s 2022 recruiting class to transfer.
Roberts joins a growing list of departing players, with 14 scholarship players from Oregon entering the transfer portal this offseason. This departure leaves Oregon with 85 projected scholarship players for the upcoming 2024 season.
