The Houston Rockets, led by General Manager Rafael Stone, are not feeling rushed to initiate contract talks with their rising stars, Jalen Green and Alperen Sengun.
Despite their impressive performances in the previous season, there’s no immediate urgency to extend their contracts.
Sengun showcased significant growth, demonstrating his value with impressive stats, while Green exhibited signs of improvement in his decision-making and shot selection. These developments were pivotal in the team’s notable improvement from the previous season.
With only one year left on their current contracts, discussions about long-term extensions can begin, but Stone emphasized the importance of patience and maintaining open communication with the players.
He highlighted the flexibility provided by the current Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), stating that while extensions are an option, they are not obligatory.
Stone stressed the intention to engage in meaningful discussions with Green and Sengun, with decisions being made mutually beneficial for both parties.
Currently, the focus of the organization lies on the upcoming NBA Draft, aiming to add more talent to the team. Meanwhile, the players are likely concentrating on recuperating before the upcoming season.
However, it’s anticipated that contract extensions for both players will be considered in the near future.
