Cincinnati Bengals Reveals A Shocking Week 12 Injury Update…

Preparations for Sunday’s clash against the Cincinnati Bengals at Paycor Stadium are underway for the Steelers, who held practice indoors at the UPMC Rooney Sports Complex.

Injuries remain a significant focus for the team this week, with new additions to the Reserve/Injured List over the past week. Safety Keanu Neal joined the list ahead of the Browns game on Saturday, and defensive back Elijah Riley followed suit on Monday.

The secondary is grappling with its fair share of setbacks, particularly with safety Minkah Fitzpatrick sidelined for the last three games due to a hamstring issue. Fitzpatrick did not participate in Wednesday’s practice.

Coach Mike Tomlin commented on Fitzpatrick’s situation, stating, “Minkah is putting in the effort to be part of this week’s plan,” adding that Montravious Adams, who had limited participation on Wednesday, is also in consideration.

“We’ll approach their involvement with caution and monitor their participation levels. As the week progresses, the extent and quality of their participation will guide their potential availability,” Tomlin explained.

Wide receiver George Pickens, dealing with a shin injury, did not participate in Wednesday’s practice.

The team has addressed the injuries at safety and linebacker by making multiple roster moves on both the 53-man roster and the practice squad. Safety Trenton Thompson was signed to the 53-man roster on Monday, and linebacker Mykal Walker joined the 53 ahead of the Browns game on Saturday. Thompson was also elevated from the practice squad for the Browns game, earning praise from Tomlin for his communication skills, along with Walker.

Tomlin stated, “I was really pleased with the level of communication and the quality of that communication, particularly from guys in the interior and communication portions of our defense. Mykal Walker and Trent did a really nice job.”
