Martyn Pert issues a stunning claim amid their upcoming Carabao Cup match…

MARTYN | EAGERLY ANTICIPATING THE CHALLENGE…

The Portman Road squad is eagerly awaiting another Premier League test as Fulham comes to town for the Carabao Cup match this evening.

In the fourth round of the competition, the Blues are set to take on the Cottagers after their victories over Bristol Rovers, Reading, and Wolverhampton Wanderers to reach this stage, where the winners have a chance to advance to the quarter-finals.

Speaking to TownTV before the game, Assistant Manager Martyn Pert expressed his anticipation for a tough encounter against a strong opponent but also his excitement for the occasion.

“We’re really excited about the game, as we’re facing a quality Premier League team who are equally motivated,” he remarked.

“The players who have participated in the cup this season have relished the experience and made valuable contributions during their minutes on the pitch.

“We’ll likely make some changes for this match, as is typical in cup competitions, but that’s the advantage of having a strong squad. Both Fulham and ourselves have quality squads, and I expect both teams to make some adjustments from the weekend.

“However, it promises to be an excellent match. Fulham is a formidable team with well-coached players, and it won’t be easy to secure a positive result against them, but we’re looking forward to the game.

“The special atmosphere under the floodlights, combined with around 27,000 fans, should create an exciting environment for our team, and we hope to provide the fans with something to cheer about.”

During Town’s victory over Plymouth on Saturday, Axel Tuanzebe was included in the matchday squad for the first time and is likely to make his debut against Fulham.

“Axel has been training diligently for the past two or three months, gradually regaining his fitness after dealing with injury issues. It’s a great feeling to see him back on the field.

“His experience is a valuable addition to the group, but it’s not just that; his personality shines through. He’s a very likable person with a charismatic presence. Spending just an hour with him is enough to recognize what a positive character he is in our changing room.
