22-year-old  English professional footballer is facing a crucial decision regarding his future with Portsmouth and Mousinho reacts to Gillingham victory…

Josh Martin, the former player for clubs like Norwich, Barnsley, and Arsenal, is facing a crucial decision regarding his future with Portsmouth.

Since late September, he has been training with the team after becoming a free agent following his departure from Carrow Road over the summer. The 22-year-old is currently living in the area with his girlfriend, who hails from Warblington.

He approached Portsmouth with a request to train with the League One table-toppers.

After spending more than two weeks with the team, Mousinho, a member of the coaching staff, is approaching a decision about Martin’s future.

He stated, “Josh trained with us again on Tuesday. What we wanted to do was get the Gillingham game out of the way because we have a natural break and will see where things sit.

We have another training session this morning, which he will be a part of, and then we’ll go from there. We are not ruling anything out at this time, but the same sort of message applies in terms of the squad, where we are and whether we’re looking to add to that.”

Portsmouth currently has four players away on international duty, which means they are not in action this weekend. They will have a four-day break starting from Thursday, with plans to return on Monday to prepare for the League One match against Carlisle on October 21. During this period, Martin will hope to have made a lasting impression to secure a place with the team.

Mousinho expressed his curiosity about why Josh Martin has not yet found a club and mentioned the challenge of assessing the situation.

He acknowledged that Martin has demonstrated his capability at this level and believes that he will find a place to continue his career. Despite the difficulty in evaluating the situation, Mousinho noted that Martin has performed well during his training sessions with Portsmouth
