Wrexham’s Pursuit of Stuart McKinstry Spurs Consideration of Three Alternative Options Amid Free Agent Links…

After expressing interest in securing the services of Stuart McKinstry in the wake of his departure from Leeds United, Wrexham is reportedly exploring other potential signings as well.

The winger, who has caught Wrexham’s attention as a free agent, has also drawn interest from fellow League Two clubs Gillingham and Forest Green Rovers.

McKinstry, aged 21, parted ways with Leeds at the conclusion of the previous season. However, the latest reports from the Daily Record suggest that he is on the verge of joining Queen’s Park.

In light of these developments, here are three alternative players that Phil Parkinson might want to consider:

  1. Josh Martin: Josh Martin, currently training with League One’s Portsmouth after leaving Norwich City in June, is a potential option. However, securing a deal appears unlikely, as reported by The News. The 22-year-old spent four years with Norwich City, making 16 appearances. He also gained valuable experience through loan spells at MK Dons, Doncaster Rovers, and Barnsley.
  2. Brandon Barker: Brandon Barker, who came up through the ranks at Manchester City, is currently available for signing. His most recent stint was in Greece with Omonia Nicosia. After leaving the Etihad Stadium, Barker had temporary spells with Rotherham United, NAC Breda, Hibernian, and Preston North End. During his time at Ibrox with Rangers, the Mancunian made 27 appearances in various competitions and scored three goals.
  3. Craig Noone: Craig Noone, a seasoned player with over 450 career games under his belt, could bring a wealth of experience to Wrexham’s squad. Hailing from Kirkby, Noone has previously played for Plymouth Argyle, Brighton and Hove Albion, Cardiff City, and Bolton Wanderers. While he has spent the past few seasons in Australia, representing Melbourne City and Macarthur, he parted ways with the latter earlier this year at the age of 35.
