‘The Journey, Persistence and a piece of the Action’ – Barnsley’s top stories…

THE JOURNEY SETS OFF THIS SUNDAY!…

This Sunday at Oakwell marks the commencement of the Women’s FA Cup competition for our Women’s Team.

After consecutive league wins led by Jess Horsley’s Reds, it’s time to enter the most prestigious cup competition in the nation.

This is especially significant as it’s the first time since the team’s relaunch under the Barnsley FC banner.

Our opponents this Sunday, October 1st, will be Ossett United, with the kick-off scheduled for 2:30 PM.

Once again, the match will be held on the 4G Astroturf at Oakwell, and we want to emphasize that entry for fans is completely FREE.

We invite you to join us and be a part of history in the making!

A REMINDER REGARDING PERSISTENT STANDING …

We would like to reiterate a message we’ve shared earlier this season: persistent standing will not be tolerated at Oakwell.

We appreciate the cooperation of those who have adhered to our safety guidelines. It is crucial that we collaborate to ensure the safest possible environment during matchdays.

Standing continuously in areas designated for seating can pose risks.

Given that Oakwell currently lacks ‘rail seating,’ we kindly request that all supporters assist us in adhering to Oakwell’s licensing conditions.

By addressing this issue and demonstrating improvement, we can avoid implementing stricter measures.

This is not unique to Barnsley FC, and we’ve included a link to the Sports Ground Safety Authority enforcement approach for reference, which some supporters may find helpful.

We understand that excitement may lead to occasional standing, and that’s not what we are concerned about. Our focus is on situations where supporters stand for prolonged periods.

Please continue to collaborate with us to foster a safer environment and minimize the likelihood of external enforcement actions against the Club.

Thank you for your support.
