Pompey Duo Nominated for October Awards in League One…
John Mousinho and Conor Shaughnessy have earned recognition for Portsmouth’s strong performance in October. Both players find themselves on the shortlists for the Sky Bet League One Manager and Player of the Month accolades.
Mousinho, who claimed the September award, steered his team to an impressive 13 points from five matches, maintaining an unbeaten streak and ascending to the top of the league standings. Notable victories were secured against Wycombe, Port Vale, Carlisle, and Reading, in addition to a draw at Cambridge.
Defender Shaughnessy made significant contributions on the field, scoring crucial stoppage-time goals against Wycombe and Carlisle while also aiding in preserving a trio of clean sheets.
Mousinho faces competition from Cheltenham’s Darrell Clarke, Barnsley’s Neill Collins, and Bolton’s Ian Evatt to retain his Manager of the Month title.
Shaughnessy’s competition for Player of the Month includes Carlisle’s Jordan Gibson, Wycombe’s Luke Leahy, and Charlton’s Alfie May.
The winners will be announced on Friday, with the selections made by judging panels featuring former Barnsley manager Danny Wilson, Sky Sports’ EFL expert Don Goodman, EFL CEO Trevor Birch, and Sky Bet EFL trader Ivor Davies.
