Yankees on brink of hiring new hitting coach…

The New York Yankees have reportedly extended an offer for the position of hitting coach to James Rowson, a move that is currently in the final stages of negotiation.

Rowson is expected to step into the role previously held by Sean Casey, who took over for Dillon Lawson midway through the last season.

At 47 years old, Rowson recently completed his first year as the assistant hitting coach for the Detroit Tigers.

The Yankees have offered Tigers assistant hitting coach James Rowson their hitting coach job.

Prior to that, he served as the minor league hitting coordinator for the Yankees for six years and also held the position of hitting coach for the Chicago Cubs and Minnesota Twins, in addition to serving as the bench coach for the Miami Marlins.
