West Bromwich Albion issues latest injury update amid Coventry City clash…

West Bromwich Albion has received positive news regarding Cedric Kipre’s injury concerns, as scan results showed no significant damage to the defender.

Kipre, who suffered a knee injury during the Baggies’ recent 2-0 victory over Queens Park Rangers, was initially feared to face several months on the sidelines.

However, the 26-year-old, an integral part of head coach Carlos Corberan’s defensive lineup and a standout performer this season, is now working with the medical team and is set to train this weekend to determine his availability for the upcoming match against Coventry City on Monday night.

On the other hand, there is less favorable news concerning Kipre’s central defensive partner, Semi Ajayi, who is almost certain to miss the CBS Arena clash due to ankle ligament damage. A specific timeline for his recovery has yet to be provided.

Carlos Corberan, during a Friday afternoon press conference, expressed his thoughts on the situation, saying, “We are currently facing a challenging period with numerous player injuries.

Fortunately, the injury to Kipre, which initially appeared significant, turned out to be less severe according to the scan results. It seems to be more about discomfort and irritation than a major injury. Kipre’s availability will depend on how he feels in the coming days, so there is a positive chance that he might play.”

Corberan also commented on Ajayi’s situation, stating, “Semi is dealing with an ongoing injury, and several other players are also in the process of recovery. It’s crucial that we avoid losing more players.

We’ve received some positive news with Conor Townsend’s return to the group after illness. While I’m uncertain if Kipre will be ready, the fact that he will be with the group next week is encouraging.”
