Why Hardik Pandya is ruled out of World Cup games against England, Sri Lanka…

Hardik Pandya’s absence from the upcoming World Cup matches against England and Sri Lanka has been confirmed, as he is yet to resume bowling practice at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) due to an ankle injury sustained during a match against Bangladesh.

Although there was speculation that he might participate as a specialist batter in the England game, the team management has decided against it, emphasizing the importance of not rushing his return to the squad, given India’s strong position in the tournament.

BCCI secretary Jay Shah mentioned that Pandya may regain fitness in time for the match against South Africa on November 5, at which point he should be able to contribute as a bowler.

In Pandya’s absence, the Indian team is set to include Suryakumar Yadav as a specialist batter for the matches against England and Sri Lanka. Suryakumar Yadav made his World Cup debut against New Zealand but had a disappointing start, getting run out after just two runs.”
