In anticipation of their match against Rotherham United in the Championship tonight, Ipswich Town is determined to uphold their impressive performance.
Since moving up to the Championship, they have lost only once, winning nine out of 11 games, placing them second in the league standings.
For this Friday’s game, if Kieran McKenna’s team secures a victory, they could potentially lead the division over the weekend, although Leicester City might regain the top position if they avoid defeat against Swansea City on Saturday.
On the other hand, Rotherham United finds themselves in the 23rd position and appears to be heading for a relegation battle, having won just once in their last 11 games. However, they have demonstrated the ability to surprise their opponents at the AESSEAL New York Stadium in the past.
Regarding the Ipswich Town team news, it was reported by Suffolk News that Wes Burns is likely to be sidelined due to a shoulder injury sustained while playing for Wales, with more details about his absence expected after the match. Additionally, Freddie Ladapo will be unavailable due to an Achilles injury, meaning he won’t be able to play against his former team.
While Australian internationals Massimo Luongo and Cameron Burgess will be ready to play, Elkan Baggott will not be part of the squad. Christian Walton and Axel Tuanzebe are still not fully fit for this game.
The predicted starting lineup for Ipswich Town includes Vaclav Hladky as the goalkeeper. The defensive lineup is expected to remain the same unless Burgess is placed on the bench after returning from international duty, and George Edmundson steps in. The only anticipated change may be on the right side, with Omari Hutchinson or Marcus Harness likely to replace the absent Wes Burns, with the latter being the more probable choice.
The match is scheduled to kick off at 8:00 PM tonight and will be broadcast live on Sky Sports.
