Here are the Cardiff City headlines for Tuesday, October 17:
Robinson Opens Up About Frustrating Eight Months
Callum Robinson has openly discussed his frustration over the past eight months due to a series of injuries that limited his playing time for both his club and the national team.
The forward had a promising start with the Bluebirds but missed a significant portion of the previous season due to injuries. Unfortunately, his struggles continued this season, primarily because of a back injury he sustained during the pre-season tour in Portugal. Although he appears to be fully fit now and recently scored a goal for Ireland, his role within Cardiff’s team remains uncertain.
While Erol Bulut has yet to start Robinson in a league match, his international boss, Stephen Kenny, has shown faith in him. Robinson expressed his support for Kenny, despite the coach facing pressure due to disappointing results.
Academy Prospect Proud to Follow in Family’s Footsteps
Josh Beecher, a young player at Cardiff City, spoke with great pride about his debut, which follows in the footsteps of his great-grandfather, Billy Baker.
Beecher made his debut against Blackburn Rovers in the Carabao Cup last month. He mentioned how he’s enjoying the current season, where he is playing up an age group with the U21 side and training daily with them. Beecher’s great-grandfather, Billy Baker, was a well-known figure in Cardiff City history, having made more than 300 appearances for the club and earning a Wales cap. Beecher’s connection to the club makes his debut even more special for his family.
New Coach Explains ‘Elite Training Group’
Darren Davies, the new coach at Cardiff City, discussed the purpose behind the club’s newly established ‘elite training group.’ This initiative aims to bridge the gap between first-team players and those in the academy.
Davies, who has experience working with top coaches in Australia, returned to Wales to take up the role of individual development coach at Cardiff City. He’s collaborating with first-team coach Tom Ramasut to set up this training group, which is designed to aid young players. The goal is to provide young talents with additional support and opportunities to impress the first-team staff, ultimately enhancing their prospects in the game.”
