Manager of the Month for September:
- Lee Bell (Crewe Alexandra): Bell’s team impressively scored nine goals in just three away matches and 14 in total, securing 11 points from five unbeaten games. He has quietly built a team that embraces Crewe’s tradition of nurturing homegrown talent.
- Dave Challinor (Stockport County): Similar to last season, Stockport County had a slow start, but Challinor has dramatically turned their form around with an exciting attacking style. Their 5-0 victory over Wrexham was the highlight of earning 13 points from five unbeaten games, with a goal difference of 15-6.
- Mike Flynn (Swindon Town): Flynn has injected positivity into the County Ground, both on and off the pitch. His attacking side continued their free-scoring form with 11 goals in five unbeaten games, which yielded 11 points and propelled them into the top three.
- Scott Lindsey (Crawley Town): For sheer excitement, one need not look further than Crawley, who accumulated 13 points and a total of 24 goals in five games, with 16 of them coming from Lindsey’s team. The fighting spirit he has instilled led to thrilling 3-2 comeback wins against Tranmere and Grimsby.
Player of the Month for September:
- Louie Barry (Stockport County): Barry showcased dynamic ability, outmaneuvering defenders to score in all five of County’s September games, also contributing two assists. His remarkable strike at Crawley and solo goal against Wrexham stood out among his 20-year-old’s sharp finishes.
- Dan Crowley (Notts County): County’s attacking play heavily relies on Crowley’s energy. Whether through precise passes, dangerous crosses, or well-timed appearances in the box, he tallied three goals and an assist, often making or scoring the opening goal in his team’s three victories.
- Aden Flint (Mansfield Town): Flint, the unyielding leader of Mansfield’s defense, conceded just two goals in five unbeaten games. His commanding presence in tackles and aerial duels was evident, and his last-minute headed flick-on even secured an equalizer against Colchester.
- Liam Kelly (Crawley Town): Kelly serves as the linchpin around which Crawley’s play revolves. Any doubts Crawley fans may have had about his abilities when he was signed have been dispelled, as he showcased his energy, influence, and playmaking control. He contributed three assists and a goal in five games.
