Portsmouth supporters on social media are understandably delighted.
Occupying the top spot in the league, securing their fifth consecutive league victory, and maintaining an unbeaten league record since March 11 – there are plenty of reasons to rejoice.
The only downside is the anticipation of a two-week wait until their next league match against Carlisle on October 21!
But rather than dwelling on that, here’s a glimpse into what fans on X, formerly known as Twitter, have been sharing in the aftermath of today’s 2-0 triumph over Port Vale.

@Jamesr02_: We’re leading the league, and there’s something special happening this season. #Pompey
@JR95_Pompey: We keep pushing forward. Although it wasn’t our best performance, it’s understandable given the absence of key players. Another fantastic Saturday. Up the blues!!
@The1898PFC: Goals can change the course of games! #Pompey looked significantly better in the second half, and a quick double gave them control. It could have been a completely different story if Port Vale had been more clinical.
@MattGalbraith12: And we’re still at the top of the league!
@Karl_Myers: Half a season without defeat, not too shabby at all. #pompey.
@Mykep85: A very impressive second half, credit where it’s due. Bishop, Rafferty, Lane – all excellent.
@davidsheraton: We’re still unbeaten and leading in League One! #PlayupPompey #Pompey.
@andymatthews09: Six points clear of third place!!
@andymp345: Having a striker who can score definitely helps. I’m sure Port Vale learned today that playing a striker is crucial. But there’s no doubt it was a great victory!
@DammitColeman: Absolutely loving this season so far!”
