Max Allegri calls for composure and equilibrium from the media following a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Lecce. ‘In recent days, we’ve transitioned from being serious contenders for the Scudetto against Inter to being labeled as underachievers.’
Juventus, also known as the Bianconeri, were in desperate need of a morale boost after their 4-2 loss to Sassuolo. However, they faced jeers from their own supporters as they left the pitch at half-time during the match at the Allianz Juventus Stadium.
Ultimately, they managed to secure the win, courtesy of a solitary goal by Arkadiusz Milik, who slid in at the back post to capitalize on an Adrien Rabiot knockdown following a corner that wasn’t effectively cleared.
Although there were scarce scoring opportunities, this victory propelled Juventus past Lecce in the standings, who were occupying third place before this midweek round.
Allegri emphasized the importance of this win, especially after the chaotic defeat to Sassuolo, stating, ‘We faced a tough Lecce side that offers minimal openings, but we remained composed and capitalized on the opportunities we did have,’ as he spoke to DAZN.
Despite the favorable outcome, Allegri left the field just moments before the final whistle in Turin.
‘We need to reduce backward passes, especially in the final minutes. Kicking the ball into the box with a minute left is not an ideal strategy. We must address these issues,’ Allegri emphasized.
He had previously asserted that Juventus is not in the title race, and their primary goal is to secure a top-four finish.
‘In recent days, our status has shifted from being legitimate title challengers against Inter to being perceived as underachievers. It’s essential to strike a balanced tone when discussing us,’ he remarked.
Allegri went on to acknowledge that Inter, Milan, and Napoli possess more substantial resources for a title run than Juventus. He also highlighted that many of his players lack extensive experience but can develop over time. He stressed the need for patience and learning from mistakes.

Federico Gatti was initially benched following his comical own goal against Sassuolo but made a late appearance, replacing Daniele Rugani.
‘Gatti faced criticism for a mistake, but he has only made 27 Serie A appearances. Patience is required. Rugani had an outstanding performance today, which is expected from a player who has been with Juventus for eight years and possesses a composed demeanor.'”
